Benjamin Verdery
Benjamin Verdery, Professor of Guitar at the Yale School of Music, came to UC Santa Barbara in June of 2000 to teach a master class with UCSB guitar students and to rehearse and lead the UCSB Guitar Ensemble in a concert at the Santa Barbara Presidio. Mr. Verdery is one of the premiere classical guitar teachers in the country, and he has a distinguished record as an internationally sought-after performer, teacher and composer. In this program, Mr. Verdery is interviewed by Brian Head, Lecturer in Guitar at UC Santa Barbara and Director of the UCSB Guitar Ensemble. Mr. Verdery discusses his philosophy of teaching, composing and his love for all kinds of guitar music from Bach to Prince.
